About Me My name is Dianne Linde and I just recently retired from Middletown as a Special Education Teacher. I have taught children from grades K - 5.
I have my masters degree in both Special Education and Administration. I have certification (Levels 1 and 2) in the Wilson Reading Program. The Wilson Reading Program is a structured literacy program based on phonological-coding research and Orton-Gillingham principles. It systematically teaches the structure of the English language. For seven years I worked with the special education teachers in Middletown coaching them so they could offer this direct instruction to their students.
Retirement was a very difficult decision because my passion is still teaching children that need more support. It was time for a more flexible schedule and to spend time with my 2 and 5 year old grandchildren. However, even though the sign says “School’s out forever” I still plan on staying involved in education because the thrill of changing a child’s life when they improve their reading and math skills is something I don’t ever want to give up.
I am available to teach a Backyard Literacy group for grades K-2 at any time and I am comfortable teaching both indoors and outdoors. I would love to work with children that need more support in reading skills - both decoding words and comprehension.
