About Me
Hello! My name is Barbara Fortunato and I am a retired Middletown Early Childhood teacher. I hold a Masters Degree in the Art of Teaching and have taught young children, Pre-K through Grade 3, for the past 30 years. I have coached teachers on the importance of using a hands-on approach to Math and Science teaching.
In my free time, I love to crochet and donate my baby blankets and hats to hospitals. I love to read and volunteer my time in the pediatric hospital floor, reading to children whenever I can. I love to walk and hike in nature with my dog. My favorite time is spent with my family and young grandsons. Other hobbies are cooking, gardening and bike riding.
I am available to teach Backyard Literacy groups for grades K-3 starting this spring outdoors. I would love to do a book study or themed books and incorporate word study and poetry in a fun way! I would be very interested in a math group, exploring math concepts using manipulatives!
I am available mornings and afternoons, Tuesdays – Fridays. I am available to do one or two hour sessions or multiple subjects.
